I've been running a local forgejo instance since last year, and I gotta say I like it. Need to get a net-booted (no persistent storage) runner up on an isolated network ("IT HAS BEEN ZERO DAYS SINCE THE LAST NPM SUPPLY CHAIN ATTACK" etc) and then I'm basically content. Backing it with rook-ceph and some consumer-grade UPS batteries has me at a higher uptime than github.
I know I'm getting old because reading this I started reminiscing about subversion.
